The elderly special weak position determines the importance of social security of the elderly. Old age social security is the necessary requirement of promoting social progress, and also is the important conditions of coordinating the inter-generational relations and maintaining social stability and healthy development. The study in this paper based on the empirical investigation for the lack of the elderly social security at Jiuzhou development zone in Lanzhou city, using the methods of historical documents and structured interview and case analysis and questionnaire investigation and statistical analysis, qualitatively analyzing and quantitatively evaluating the current situation and existing problems and the degree of lack of the elderly social security in the studied area, and puts forward the countermeasure and suggestion on improving the olderagegroups social security at high geological-hazard-prone area.
