Typical Food that we usually have in Spring Festival The family reunion dinner is more luxurious than usual. Seaweed and HaoChiTheir chinese pronunciation are“facai”and One special vegetable---lettuce In Chinese ,it is called“shengcai” it symbolize earning money. In North China, on New Year ,for breakfast , people eat jiaozi or dumplings。 Noodles should be uncut, as they represent long life. Some people put noodles and dumplings together whose shape like “qianchuanzi”. Symbolize money and treasure . On New Year Day ,Rice Ball is also one dish can be excluded , it is circle, called “yuan” in chinese,means “tuanyuan” ,all the family members get together. Southern Chinese eat niangao (New Year cake made of glutinous rice flour) on this occasion, because, niangao means higher and higher, one year after another. Southern people also eat Rice Ball in this occasion ,but prefer the fried one. Youjiao ,its full filled shape means much money ,more treasure.
