To establish the random theory model, a lar e amount of soil data are required. In this paper , a database mana ement system has been built up to mana e and analyze the data of the eotechnical properties of foundation soils. Almost all information of soil properties in the existin oil fields in Bohai has been collected and in- cluded in the database. Based on the established database, the stationarity and er odicity of soil profiles in this area have been examined and a ran- dom field has been modeled. The correlation function, correlation distance and variation of reduction function have been studied. The developed method may ive uidance to introduce the reliability theory into soil foundations desi n of ocean structures.
