M ixed am ong the integration w ith, deviation from, and d ivergence of the m ain stream cu lture, Native Am erican literature reveals a certain perspective on m odern civilization. W ith the classic them e of revenge, the novel lays bare the conflicts betw een NativeAm erican psy chology and m odern m ainstream value. W ithin the critical interpretation, the once geocu ltural concept of ethn icity deviates from its ethnic and biological bounds, focusing instead on the psy chologically m oral leve.l Thus the id iosyncrasy of the novel em erges through its special narrative, cu ltural attitude, h istorical m em ory, and emotional pattern.
