The new Chameleon systems are high level nets extended with time. An unfolding construction is presented which yields an equivalent time Petri net. A time model, interval-duration interval, is proposed for manufacturing applicat ions. Some analysis techniques of Chameleon systems are discussed, special attention is given to methods using symmetries. The applicability of Chameleon systems for formalising and analysing the joined planning problem is demonstrated by an example.
