We set up both BladeCenter and c-Class and tested the same configurations inside both architectures using exerciser programs that stress the system from idle to max utilization. The numbers above represent the average difference we saw across the entire operating range. Like for like IBM will always deliver at least a 19-26% average savings just because of the better power supplies, smarter thermal solution, and smart sharing of parts.
