In English teaching, if we know how to make full use of games, we can improve teachers performance. So according to the English teaching situation of China, this article will discuss some theoretical and practical problems curtly which involve in using games. Key Words: Application; English games; English teaching; language skills; levels; purposes; different stages; different types of games; different time and places; teaching materials; ?interests 1. Introduction English games are a kind of teaching tools which are applied to English teaching. They are very useful to our English teaching, especially for teachers and students in China nowadays. We should realize the importance of the application of games in English teaching. This article will analysis some theoretical and practical problems curtly which involve in applying games in English teaching. 2. The importance of using games in English teaching 2.1 More opportunities for students participation Doing English games gives students, especially those who are very shy, a lot of opportunities to communicate with each other. It can build a good relationship between students and students,students and teachers.
