Teaching aims:
Enable Ss to remember the new words.
Enable Ss to study by themselves.
Arouse Ss’ interest of learning English.
Focal points:
Words: study, bathroom, living room, kitchen, bedroom
Difficult points:
To recognize and recite the words.
Prepare:
Tape recorder, word cards
Teaching steps:
Step 1: Warm-up:
Review the words of Unit 3.
Step 2: Let’s learn:
T show a “study” picture and ask: What are they? Ss: Books. T: Where are they? Tell the Ss: They’re in the study. T model: study, have Ss repeat.
Write it on the board and have Ss spell it.
Have Ss write it on their exercise-book.
Do the same for the next words: bathroom, living room, bedroom, kitchen.
Step 3: Listen to the tape:
Have Ss open their books.
Play the tape. Ss listen and point to the words.
Play the tape again. Ss listen and repeat.
Step 4: Practice:
Step 5: Let’s do:
1. T do the actions and model the orders at the same time.
Play the tape, have Ss only listen.
3. Play the tape again, Ss listen and try to do follow it.
4.Play the tape for more times, Ss listen and repeat loudly.
5.Listen, repeat and do it again.
Step 6: Let’s sing: My bedroom
Have Ss look at the sing words and listen to the tape.
Listen again, Ss try to follow it.
Listen for more times, Ss try to sing loudly.
Sing it group by group and have a match.
Step 7: Homework:
Write and recite the words.
Try to describe one best friend.
