The Hui Minority History Since AD 7 century, Persia and Arabia came to do business with Chinese, some of them settled down. In Yuan Dynasty, a lot of them swarmed into Center Plains for the wars. Region Firstly, they lived in the coastal cities, such as Guangzhou, Quanzhou. Now, The Hui minority is Chinas most widely distributed minority and they mainly distributed in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The Chinese As we all known, the Hui are the most populous of Chinas Muslim peoples. The Hui differ from the other Muslim peoples of China in that they do not have a language of their own and speak the Chinese dialect of their locality. In the early formation, the Hui minority used Persian(波斯语), Arabic(阿拉伯语), ancient language and other central Asian language generally. And then, along with the national fusion , the main body of the national relationship, and due to its Hui scattered, the characteristics of small inhabit, the Chinese is used for common language within the nation. But Arabic and Persian vocabulary are still maintained. Jing-Tang language (经堂语) It can be said to be one of the Hui’s languages. It is a kind of language behavior that Arabic letters are used to spell the Chinese text which make the earliest form of Chinese pinyin. It combines with Persian, Arabic and Chinese. It is used orally by Chinese Muslim scholars in mosque schools for their translation of the original scriptures and delivering sermons. Xiao’erjin (小儿锦) It is the common and independent word that is created by the Hui nationality . Its foundation letters are based on the Koran letters.And the Hui created aother four unique letters according to its own language area .
