Let the students know something about noise pollution: (1) Noise is also a kind of pollution and is harmful to human health. (2) People who work and live in noisy conditions may become deaf. (3) Quite a few people living near airports also have hearing loss. (4) Making a loud noise in public is also a kind of pollution; it not only disturbs others but also does great harm to hearing. 3. After this section, students can improve the sense of protecting the environment. Ⅱ. Teaching aids 教具 录音机/多媒体图片/小黑板 Ⅲ. Five-finger Teaching Plan 五指教学方案 Step 1 Review 第一步 复习(时间:6分钟) 1. (教师用上两节课的内容引出新的词汇和语言点。) T: We have learnt Section A and B. We have known some kinds of pollution. Can you list them? Ss: Yes. Such as water pollution, soil pollution, light pollution, air pollution, noise pollution and so on. T: Very good. Let’s look at the pictures. (教师展示多媒体上的图片。) T: (指着图片。) What are they burning? Ss: (帮学生回答并重复领读解释意思。) Coal. T: Can burning coal cause pollution? Ss:Yes. Burning coal can cause air pollution. T: You’re right. (教师展示多媒体上的图片。) T: Look at the picture. People are producing electricity by wind. (教师释义并领读electricity。 ) T: (指图片。) Can it cause pollution? Ss: No. T: You’re right. It can’t cause pollution. (让学生重复读。) Ss: Producing electricity by wind can’t cause pollution. 2. (教师让学生完成1a中的pre-reading questions。) T: OK. Look at the phrases in 1a, and check (√) which is pollution. (学生可以讨论,然后教师与学生核对答案。) Step 2 Presentation 第二步 呈现(时间:14分钟) T: You know, playing loud rock music at midnight is a kind of pollution. Why? Ss:Because playing loud rock music can make lots of noise.
