FSO A floating storage and offloading unit is a floating storage device, which is a simplified FPSO without the capability for oil or gas processing. Most FSOs are old single hull supertankers that have been converted. 2. FSRUA LNG floating storage and regasification unit is a floating storage and regasification system, which receives liquefied natural gas LNG from offloading LNG carriers, and the onboard regasification system provides natural gas send-out through flexible risers and pipeline to shore. 3. FPDSOFloating Production Drilling Storage and Offloading. Some Representative FPSOs The Girassol FPSO, is one of the largest FPSO vessel functioning in the world today. It was constructed in Korea. It has been constructed as a joint venture between Bouygues Offshore and Stolt Offshore within a period of 21 months. The vessel has a production capacity of 200,000 barrels per day and a storage capacity of 2,000,000 barrel storage capacity.
