The mark or label is the text printed on a product package or, in the case of items like clothing, attached to the product itself. Marking packages helps handlers to keep track of the product as it moves through the logistics system, and assists wholesalers and retailers in using proper practices. Marks can be preprinted on fiberboard boxes, or glued, stamped or stenciled on to containers. Brand labeling packages can aid in advertising for the product’s producer, packer and/or shippers. Contents of Marking ? Shipping mark Shipping mark contains: identification mark (e.g. initial letters of receiver or shipper, or of receiver’s company name); identification number (e.g. receiver’s order number); total number of items in the complete consignment; the place and port of destination. ? Information mark  It contains the following information: Country of origin. Statement of the country of origin is often mandatory. Indication of weight of package. Packages must be marked with details of weight. Dimensions of packages. Standards specify that dimensions be stated in centimeters. ?
