Diecasting压力铸造全解

DIE CASTING 凌博 刘龙飞 刘昕捷 What is die casting? What is the process of die casting? Two types of the die casting machines? What are the advantages and disadvantages of die casting? What is die casting? Die casting involves the preparation of components by injecting molten metal at high pressures into a metallic die. What is the process of die casting? The casting cycle starts when the two parts of the die are apart. The lubricant is sprayed on the die cavity manually or by the auto lubrication system. The two die halves are closed and clamped. The required amount of metal is injected into the die. After the casting is solidified under pressure the die is opened and the casting is ejected. Two types of the die casting machines: Hot chamber die casting Cold chamber die casting What are the advantages and disadvantages of die casting? Advantages of die casting: Excellent dimensional accuracy. Smooth cast surfaces . Thinner walls can be cast as compared to sand and permanent mold casting (approximately 0.75?mm or 0.030?in). Reduces or eliminates secondary machining operations. Rapid production rates. Casting tensile strength as high as 415 MPa. Disadvantages of die casting: Casting weight must be between 30 grams and 10 kg. Casting must be smaller than 600 mm . High initial cost. Limited to high-fluidity metals. A certain amount of porosity is common. Thickest section should be less than 13 mm. A large production volume is needed to make this an economical alternative to other processes. Thank you!
