Design and Technology Yr 78 ICT Pizza Box Design Project Outline The project is aimed at developing the ICT skills of the pupils through the use of Word and Excel Pupils will create design sheets and learn to develop their presentation skills using the simple drawing menu in Word The design outcome will use card templates made using the Camm1 plotter cutter Link to Scheme of work Getting Started Brainstorm Pizza box packaging Get pupils to record brainstorm in rough Demonstrate sheet presentation and layout Setting page to A4, landscape, adding borders, WordArt and text boxes Brainstorm Sheet Present the information we covered in class using Word, WordArt and AutoShapes Product Evaluation Pupils take a Pizza box from the resource store Using the Product Evaluation sheet pupils write about the main points of the design Link to example Link to help sheet Questionnaire Pupils create a questionnaire to find out what kind of Pizza people want They must make their questions multiple choice They will need at least 5 questions Present the questionnaire using Word Remind them the sheet will need A border A WordArt heading Use a Table to give space for your Tally Get their friends to answer the questionnaire Link to example Results Using Microsoft Excel and your tally results create 4 graphs Add a title to each graph Copy and the paste them into a separate Word document When you paste use Paste special and choose Picture Add a detailed conclusion to each graph to explain not only what you have found out but what this will mean for your design Link to example Results Specification Using the information they have covered in their Research the pupils can now draw up a design specification of all the things their Pizza Box must:- Be Have Do Link to example Quick Ideas Using Quick Ideas sheet Pupils add Six drawing of possible box fronts Notes are added to explain whether or not the idea would be effective at selling the pizza Comments from others are very useful
