Good morning, everyone. It’s a great honour for me to be here to share my ideas about how to teach Lesson 31 I Need a Map
To make my instruction clear, I divide it into 6 parts.
Part1: Analysis of teaching material
status and function:
This is the seventh lesson in Unit 4, Book 3.This unit focuses on describing the neighbourhoods and asking and showing the way. Meanwhile students know about the similarities and differences between Canadian and Chinese neighbourhoods. In this lesson, Brian wrote a letter to his parents to tell them what he did last week. It’s a revision lesson, students can review how to describe their neighbourhoods, how to ask and give the directions.
2: Teaching aims and demands:
Knowledge objects: enable the students to master and review the word, phrases and expressions about describing the neighbourhood, asking and showing the directions.
To write the envelop in English and know the differences
between the Chinese envelop and the English envelop.
Grammar: pronouns
Ability objects: enable the Ss to be skilled in using these words, phrases and expressions.
To improve the Ss’ listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities
Enable the students to co-operate with each other.
Enable the students to transform their language knowledge into ability by communicating in English.
Moral objects: ?To help the students in different levels love learning English and take an active part in all kinds of activities in English class
Encourage them to give a hand to people in trouble.
3Teaching key points and difficult points
In my opinion, the key points should be: Master the new words , phrases and expressions
Train students’ reading and listening ability
To be skilled in asking and showing the way.
The difficult points: how to write the English letter and envelop
