Methods to build cough and asthma model in mice and guinea pigs to observe the role of cinnamon cough asthma, while intraperitoneal injection of phenol red to cinnamon expectorant effects were observed. Results cinnamon can significantly reduce the number of cough in mice within 2 min to extend the latent period of asthma in guinea pigs and promote secretion of phenol red (P amp;lt;0.05). Conclusion cinnamon with antitussive and expectorant antiasthmatic effect.
