Methods A retrospective analysis of our department from January 2003 to December 2008 with open reduction and internal fixation of clavicular fracture in patients with 155 cases, including applications Kirschner wire plus 60 cases ( group); application of plate 95 cases ( group). of the two groups were operation time, blood loss, hospital stay, hospital charges, bone healing time and complication rate comparison. Results 155 cases were followed up. followed up for 6 months to 3 years, an average of 12 months. and group operation time, blood loss and hospital stay were no significant differences; and group hospitalization cost, fracture healing time and complication rates were significantly different, which group fracture healing time and hospital costs better than the group, but the complication rate of group slightly higher than the group. Conclusion Two clavicle fracture fixation methods have their advantages and disadvantages, the traditional fixed-wire pinning plus there are better clinical efficacy, with a simple, little interference on the fracture segment, fracture healing and the economic and practical advantages, although the high incidence of complications , but by precisely the indications and norms of operation can meet the shortfall, reduce the incidence of complications.
