Abstract: With the community’s new talents of English language proficiency standards and requirements to improve English proficiency into consideration an important indicator of talent, but a long time, China’s public to stay in the traditional English teaching mode, students lack the use of languages communicative activities, the capacity of spoken English communication skills are far from meeting social needs. Therefore, to explore in public oral English ability, especially pay attention to strategy. This paper analyzes the college oral English teaching in public status and existing problems of oral English teaching in public universities the basic principles and strategies.

With China’s accession to WTO and the successful bid, economic globalization and cultural diversity in our increasingly deepening and development of communicative competence in English to write more papers highlight its importance. My country has strong foreign language communicative ability of the growing demand for talented people, good speaking ability has become the employment of university graduates an advantage. The development of society require foreign language teaching profession, with strong emphasis on training foreign language communicative ability of students.
