Celiacarterycompressionsyndrome(CACS)ormedianarcuateligament(MAL)syndromeisararevasculardisease.Theclinical manifestations of CACS include the triad of postprandial pain, vomiting, and weight loss. The pathogenesis of CACS is the externalcompressionofceliacarterybytheMALorceliacganglion.Moreover,someauthorsalsoreportedthecompressionwith di?erentetiologies,suchasneoplasmsofpancreatichead,adjacentduodenalcarcinoma,vascularaneurysms,aorticdissection, orsarcoidosis.Intheliterature,mostcasesofCACSwerereportedfromWesterncountries.Incontrast,thisdiseasewasseldom reportedinOrientalcountriesorregions,includingTaiwan.Superiormesentericarterysyndrome(SMAS)isalsoararedisease characterizedbycompressionofthethirdportionoftheduodenumbytheSMA.TheclinicalfeaturesofSMASarepostprandial pain,vomiting,andweightloss.Todate,therearenoguidelinestoensurethepropertreatmentofpatientswithCACSbecauseof itslowincidence.Thus,tailoredtherapyforpatientswithCACSremainsachallengeaswellasthepredictionofclinicalre
