Patientsandmethods:FortyfivepatientshadstageIIB(exceptthosewithT2N1disease)andstageIIIAwere selectedto3cyclestaxane-basedneoadjuvantchemotherapy.Patientwhohadtumours≤5cmunderwenta tentativeBCSwhilepatientswhohadtumoursize5cmunderwentradicalsurgery.Negativemarginisessential forBCS.Adjuvantchemotherapyand3-Dradiotherapy±hormonaltreatmentweregiventoallpatients. Results:ThirtyfourpatientshadBCS.Responsetochemotherapywastheonlystatisticallysignificantfactorwhich influencestheBCS.Incidenceoflocalrecurrencewas5.9%forpatientswhohadBCSatamedianfollowup 24months. Conclusion:Breastconservationisfeasibleinselectedcasesoflocallyadvanced,nonmetastaticcancerbreast.We recommendthatpatientswhohavetumoursize≤4cmafterchemotherapyarethebestcandidatesforBCS.
