Martin Eden is his semi-autobiographical novel. Martin, the hero of the novel, wished to enter the upper class with his own efforts. But after he came into it, he became more painful and had a void in his heart. He was plunged into such a state of uncontrollable grief that he committed suicide. Martin’s tragedy is always the focus of argument. In this article, the author deals with various kinds of philosophical theories of that time such as evolutionism, the superman theory, individualism and socialism.
