Based on the practices of large opening top-down method in the deep foundation pit of Shanghai Dragon Mansion, the difficulties and ways to deal with design and construction as well as monitoring results are introduced. The results show that the large opening top-down method has a lot of advantages of cost effectiveness, rapid construction and safety.
