Inquiry-based learning: students construct their own knowledge
Abstract: Inquiry-based learning is the current curriculum reform in a particular topic of concern caused by front-line teachers. However, with the New Curriculum Reform in-depth, practice emerged in a variety of confusion and misunderstanding. In some exploration activities, the students follow the teachers, but the programs developed in accordance with the steps required of teachers to explore the issues raised by teachers, to generate teachers want to conclusions. The nature of inquiry-based learning is that students construct their own knowledge, students explore the process of loss of autonomy led to inquiry-based learning has lost its soul. To carry out inquiry-based learning, we must firmly grasp the autonomy of the students to construct knowledge on the core problem, inquiry-based learning to conduct more in-depth reflection of the upper.

Abstract: Inquiry learning is a key problem in today’s curriculum reform, which attracts great attention by teachers from classrooms. But as the curriculum reform developing in depth, there appears some puzzles and misleading. In some activities of inquiry, students only follow the programs and steps set by teachers, inquire the questions put forward by teachers and draw conclusions teachers require. The nature of inquiry learning is self-determined construction of students ‘knowledge. But the loss of students’ subjectivity in inquiry learning makes the loss of the soul of inquiry learning. Therefore, the self-determined construction is the key point in inquiry learning, which requires our deep thinking of it.
