The use of hieroglyphs and ideographs made Yixiang aesthetics being the essential characteristics of Chinese peoples aesthetics. Yixiang aesthetics exists everywhere including in traditional gardens, in contemporary landscape construction, and even in landscape-appreciating of people in general. Yijing (concept) is the essence of traditional Chinese art and the fruit of Chinese wisdom. Yixiang thinking and Yixiang aesthetics is the core substance of Yijing inheriting. Based on the rational exploration about Chinese peoples thinking mode, the article generalizes and extracts the Chinese style design theory—landscape Yixiang theory, to explore the method of Chinese contemporary landscape architecture inheriting traditional Yijing theory.
