Common Errors The commonly seen errors in writing English sentences includes: 1) fragments (不完整句); 2) run-ons(粘连句); 3) misplaced modifiers(修饰语错位)； 4) dangling modifiers(悬垂修饰语)。 Common Errors (Fragments 不完整句) The commonly seen fragments includes: 1) dependent-word fragments (从属词不完整句); 2) -ing and to fragments (现在分词和不定式不完整句); 3) added-detail fragments (附加细节不完整句)； 4) missing-subject fragments (主语缺失不完整句). Some word groups that begin with a dependent word may be fragments. e.g: 1) * After I cashed my paycheck. I treated myself to dinner. Revised: After I cashed my paycheck, I treated myself to dinner. After I cashed my paycheck and then treated myself to dinner. How to Correct: using a comma/attaching it to another sentence before or after it: Dependent-word Fragments (从属词不完整句) e.g: 2) * I wont leave the house. Until I hear from you. * Rich finally picked up the socks. That he had thrown on the floor days ago. Revised: I wont leave the house until I hear from you.
