(1) Does the body contribute to the thesis, i.e. help convince the reader that the thesis is correct? (2) Does each paragraph serve a clear function and have a topic idea? Can readers easily find the topic ideas?; 2. Is my essay supported? (3) Do I have enough examples, details or reasons that support the topic ideas? Are there unsupported ideas in the draft? Are there poor examples, details or reasons that should be dropped? Are there better ones that I can substitute or add? ; 2. Is my essay supported? (4) Are there paragraphs or ideas are irrelevant? On the other hand, have I left out any steps or points?; ;2. Revising Sentences;3. Do I use active verbs? --Teachers like to preach: the active voice is usually more crisp, brief, and vigorous than the passive because it places the doer of an action in a prominent place. But notice that active voice may not always be a better choice. Make your own judgment. ;4. Do I use words effectively by avoiding slang, clichés, pretentious languages, and wordiness? -- Is the writing too wordy? Have I delete all the words that can be deleted?
