Abstract:The transient exterior flow fiel of a mini-van w as compute by large e y
simulation (LES), an then the noise characteristic w as pre icte using FW-H acoustic mo -
el base on Lighthil-Curle acoustic analogy theory .The local shape of the mirror w as mo i-
fie to re uce the aero ynamic noise.Finally a real vehicle roa test w as implemente , with
the test velocities from 60 km/h to 120 km/h.The result show s that the vehicle noise has
been noticeably re uce , or even ow n to 1.2 B, by mo ifying the mirror shape.
