By analyzing the relationship between geological disasters and formation conditions of topography, geological structure, lithology, soil and rock type, precipitation, surface water, groundwater, human engineering activities, earthquakes. Thinking geological hazard in Haitan is a result of the combined effects of the formation conditions. The formation or occurrence of each type geological hazards, the dominant condition is different. Therefore, the study on formation of geological hazards is necessary for analyses the causes and mechanism of geologic hazards, controls their development, disaster mitigation and disaster preparedness.
