There is a wide range of applications of tumor cell markers and biological applications. Discovery of cancerous parts by marking tumor cells with quantum dots has important directive function in quantum dot guidance. Quantum dots as energy donor have received attention on tumor photodynamic therapy （PDT ）studies. This paper briefly introduces the quantum dot optical properties ， summarizes the research progress of the quantum dot fluorescent probe in tumor diagnosis and tumor PDT treatment.
