Anemia in China Anemia is the amount of haemoglobin or red blood cells in the unit volume of blood. Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is a small cell hypochromic anemia caused by the lack of iron storage in the body which causes the reduction of hemoglobin synthesis. The prevalence of anemia among women aged 15 to 50 was 19.9%, and the prevalence of anaemia in adults aged 18 to 60 was 10.9%. The prevalence of anaemia in urban areas was 18.2% (13.4% for men, 21.5% for women) and 20.8% for rural anemia (16.7% for men and 24.0% for women). The prevalence of anemia was 28.9% in China, 25.3% in urban and 30.4% in rural areas. The prevalence of maternal anemia was 29.5%, and urban and rural areas were 27.3% and 30.4% respectively. Behavior and lifestyle 1. Sleeping time: the average adult in China sleeps 8.1 hours per day, and there is no difference between men and women. Urban adults are 7.9 hours and rural areas 8.2 hours. The average daily sleep schedule is characterized by the fact that the city is lower than the countryside, and the time of sleep decreases with age, the lowest in the big city, the highest in four rural areas. 2. TV time: the average adult TV time is 2.1 hours per day, 2.1 hours for men and 2.0 hours for women. Urban adults are 2.3 hours and rural areas 2.0 hours. 3. Leisure time: the average adult leisure activity in China is 2.5 hours per day, 2.7 hours for men and 2.4 hours for women. Urban adults are 3.2 hours and rural areas are 2.2 hours.
