A survey of design management tools was conducted focusing on (1) the tools knowing and familiarity, (2) the expected tools, (3) the importance of the tools, and (4) design managers’ attitudes towards tools. Fifty-five tools were selected from literature searches. The top ten set of tools of awareness, familiarity and importance were listed. Four groups of tools were named as the type of planning, managing, creating and analyzing.
