Methods: Thirty health y white New Zealan a ult rabbits with bilateral, f ull - thickness osteochon ral efects in the cartilage surfaces of intercon ylar fossas w ere use . The left knees in these animals w ere treate . The right knees were sham-treate . Groups of 10 animals w ere sacrifice at 2, 4 an 8 w eeks postoperatively. Results: Both gross an histological appearances show e the tissue repair of the experimental si es w as quicker than those of the cont rol si es.
