Relief works cannot continue without your support
7 28 s of end July 2007, there are 28 Chinese provinces, municipalities and
750 1 1 Aautonomous cities suffering from flood-related hazards in different scales
600 40 and severity. The deadly floods devastated at least 7.5 million hectares of
500 farmland, affected more than 101 million people, left 600 dead, destroyed
400 thousand houses and resulted in an economic loss of more than RMB 50
billion.
In China, it seems that flood-related disasters are unavoidable in the rainy
season. There is no exception in this year. How can we alleviate the impact
of the frequent disasters Apart from disaster relief, can we implement any
disaster preparedness programs to prevent the potential damage and threat of
flooding
In response to the huge needs after disaster, HKRC have appealed to the
Hong Kong community for their generous donat ion for years . Have the
Mainland counterparts echoed the same appeals to offer their
