八(上)Unit 10 I’m going to be a basketball player. Section A( 3a-4) Lesson type:New Reading Learning Goals: In this lesson, the students will Lean to talk about future intentions . By reading, they not only master the ideal work of their own future, but also a target. At the same time, it’s good for them to receive educational and emotional education. Teaching procedures and ways: Step I. Review 1.Warming up: At the beginning of the class: Enjoy a song named 《我的未来不是梦》, and ask: Do you have a dream job? What are you going to be when you grow up? Let’s share our dreams. 2. Show the students a few pictures to review what we learnt in the last lesson and make dialogues like this: A: What are you going to be when you grow up? B: I’m going to be a/an…… They talk about more photos that I collected to revise the grammar. And then they practice in pairs by themselves about their future intentions. 3. Show the students a few stick figures and play a guessing game like this: A: What are you going to be? B: I’m going to be …… (In order to make them take much interest in English and at the same time practice the drills again.) This activity is to revise the target languages that we’ve learnt. Step II. Pre-reading activities 1. Preview Ask the Ss to translate the following Chinese into English. First ask the Ss to put them into English orally, then let them write English down without looking at the textbooks.
