Facility name 25 NM ring (GPS approaches uses 30 NM ring) Broken down by sectors if needed. * Special Segment Information – distance (4.4) from navaid to point where it enters the holding pattern. Ricke is the FAF for this approach. * Westminster IAF – 293 degree inbound to NUMBE at 2800’ (no PT required) How do we find NUMBE? Using the localizer 048 degrees proceed inboud on the 293 radial until you intercept the localizer 048 radial. At that point your at NUMBE. * This direction we will cross over the Frederick VOR and track outbound on the 048 radial until we reach NUMBE. Crossing NUMBE we will execute a procedure turn to intercept the 228 degree heading, be careful to stay within the 10 NM circle. From here we fly the localizer and/or glide slope down to the published minimums. * Profile view – looking at it from the side. After crossing RICKE we descend at or above 2800’ After the procedure turn we roll out on the 228 degree inbound heading, at this point we can descend down to 1600’ until glide slope intercept, then follow the glide slope to decision altitude. * Let’s look at our profile view symbols to see if there are anything different from what we have seen yet. * Teardrop turn Procedure turn FAF is for non-precision approaches precision approaches use glide slope intercept MAP for non-precision, precision uses decision altitude Glide slope intercept is depicted by the small lightening bolt. * Altitudes Visual Decent Point Visual Flight Path (LDA/SDF) * Typical procedure turn – 1 minute outbound leg being sure to stay within the 10 NM ring.
