固体基质的分类和选用原则（Classification and selection principle of solid matrix） Classification and selection principle of solid matrix No solid substrate for soilless culture has many kinds, including rock wool, vermiculite, perlite, sand, gravel, peat, sawdust, rice husk, coconut husk, mushroom residue, the substrate was added to the nutrient solution, like soil for plant O2, H2O, and nutrients on plant support, but also can make up for some shortcomings of pure culture, such as poor ventilation, can not regulate the supply of root water conditions. Therefore, solid matrix is an important part of soilless culture. There are many classification methods for solid matrix. According to the source of the matrix, two kinds of natural matrix and synthetic matrix can be divided into two types. Such as sand, stone, gravel and other natural matrix, and rock wool, foam plastics, porous ceramsite and other synthetic substrates. Classified according to the composition of the matrix, can be divided into inorganic matrix, organic matrix and chemical synthesis matrix three categories. Sand, gravel, rock wool, vermiculite and perlite are inorganic composition of the inorganic matrix; bark, peat, bagasse, rice husk, coconut husk by plant residues composition, organic matrix; matrix foam for chemical synthesis. Classified according to the nature of the matrix, they can be divided into two types: active matrix and inert matrix. An active matrix is a substrate that has base exchange capacity or itself can provide plant nutrients. Inert matrix is the matrix that does not supply nutrients or does not have base exchange capacity.
