Geochemistry Laboratory , Research Institute of Daqing Petroleum Exp loration an Developmen t, Daqing 163712, China Abstract:In order to elucidate the origin of condensate oi-l gas reservoir discovered in Qiji-a Gulong depression, a thermal evaporation experiment w as designed and carried out based on the knowledge of the geological background of condensate oi-l gas reservoir and the oi-l oil correlation. The result indicates that the condensate oil and the underlying blac-k oil are from the same source rock, which hint s their secondary origin. The thermal evaporation experiment supports that the condensate oil is from the underlying black-oil by thermal evaporation. This kind of thermal evaporation is possibly realized through faults or micro-fractures. The possibility of forming larg-e scale condensation gas reservoirs in this area is discounted because of the thermal evaporation origin. Therefore, the advantaged exploration target should be focused on such areas as where there are pathw ays pr
