The servo oil flow into, or out of VCU cylinder is controlled by the 3/2 way valve. The servo oil return pipe has a back pressure of ~2-3 bar, in order to dampen pressure peaks. In order to re-fill the intended oil loss through the constant orifice in the exhaust valve drive upper housing, there is an internal orifice to the upper part of the VCU/actuator pipe. Note: The servo oil itself is filtered to 6-micron by the automatic filter, in order to reach the required oil-cleanliness for a hydraulic system.
