Chin. J. App l. Ecol. , 2001, 12(5) : 39~ 42. By incubation experiment w ith luvisol, the influences of rare earths on the transformations of simultaneously applied urea in the soil were studied. When t he dosage of applied rare earths w as more than 10mg!kg- 1 ovendried soil, the + concentration of ureaderived exchangeable NH N in the soil significantly increased and the increase appeared the 4 - dosedependent relat ionship. During different periods of soil incubation, the concentration of soil ureaderived ( NO + 3 - - 1 NO )N decreased wit h increasing dosage of applied rare earths. In addition, at the dosages more than 50mg!kg 2 ovendried soil, a significant reduction of t his N form in the soil appeared
