Compared w ith rice seedling under w ater raising conditions, rice seedlings under dry raising conditions w ere sho rter and stronger, in w hich m uch starch w as accum ulated , catalase activity w as stronger, and chlo rophyll content w as higher. R ice p lants from dry raising seedlings grew roo ts quickly after transp lanting and had mo re tillers and effective panicles , resulting in the higher yield of grains. Com pared w ith no rm al dry raising seedlings, rice seedlings that under dry raising conditions at earlier stage and m uch w atered and less lighted at the late stage show ed low er starch content and catalase activity and the yield of grains had no significant differ ence w ith w ater raising seedlings.
