1. INTRODUCTION 1.1 General description The BOOSTER CARD is a machine suitable to process a great quantity of fibres. The working width, called HL, is 2500 mm. The whole machine is provided with separate inverters, which enable you to carry out high precision interventions on the peripheral speeds of the parts they manage and no operators’ intervention inside guards is required during production. Any speed variation and work setting should be performed by means of a control panel placed outside the machine. It also has a lateral footboard and a wedge for easy maintenance and cleaning. The BOOSTER CARD has been designed to create a high quality web and ensure the safety of the operators working on it. This manual will show how to behave to achieve quality, reliability and above all the operators’ safety with the BOOSTER. 1.2 Operation Principle The BOOSTER CARD is made of two parts – see figure 1 -: - BCM FEEDER (see manual) - BOOSTER CARD In turn, the card is made of the following parts: A) Pre-carding feed area B) Material opening area C) Pre-carding area D) Carding feed area E) Carding area F) Lower doffer - high-flying comb outlet – web detachment area G) Upper doffer - high-flying comb outlet – web detachment area H) Web conveyor area FEEDER Figure 1 1.3 Description of the machine The figure below shows all the cylinders of the machine.
