There are wt oways to solvegenerale- quilibrium inm icroeconom ics, welfare equations and excess demand equations; the former is awl ays discussed in the literature, while the latter rarely involved in the literature. Thepaper states theprincipleof themethod ofwe-l fare equations, and then gives specific examples to compare the advantages and disadvantages of both methods.
