The developmental process of ecosystem management ideology has a close relationsh ip w ith the developmental course of ecology, and it has integrated ecological theory and m anagement ideology. In th is paper, the background of origin and developmental process of forest ecosystem management ideology was generalized, and the concept and connotation of forest ecosystem manage- ment w ere discussed. And the contents of the forest ecosystem management w ere discussed from three points of view, wh ich are ecology, sociology and econom ics.
