St. Clair College of Applied Arts Technology Annual Report April 2004 – March 2005 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY St. Clair College completed another extremely successful year with a number of innovative, first-of-a-kind events that will pave the way for enrolment growth over the next several years. This year, the College defined its four pillars of business which will shape the academic landscape of the College into the future. Manufacturing/engineering technologies, applied health sciences, tourism/hospitality and business form the foundation of our academic offerings. The development of this framework was critical as we worked to launch new programs that would meet the needs of business and industry in our community, regionally, nationally and around the world. The Board of Governors has endorsed a comprehensive Strategic Plan, which will move the institution forward to 2010. Those strategic directions include: Academic Excellence Development of Thames Campus Managing Financial Health. The College has also continued to foster key partnerships with business, industry and other educational institutions in the community in order to support the academic framework of the College and to build new pathways for student success. St. Clair College sees a continued need to work with our secondary school system to continue to build these pathways for young people who either do not have the admission requirements to enter our programs or are unsure of their career directions. Our staff are involved with other Colleges and Boards of Education in Southwestern Ontario in the development of new and innovative ways to support and foster this transition from secondary to postsecondary education. THE ROAD TO ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE 1. NEW PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT This past year has seen tremendous growth in new program launches for the College. At our Windsor Campus, approval was received for a new 3 year Music Theatre Performance program and a two year Esthetician diploma. Windsor also saw the inau
