ABSTRACTSmallandMiddle-sizedsoftwareenterprisetakeaveryimportantpositioninthe industryofChina’ssoftware,buttheirfoundationsarequiteweakonprocessof software,andthemanagementsarenotstandardizabletoo.Theimprovementin softwareprocessnotonlyhasbecomeanunavoidabletopiconsoftwareenterprisesof development at present stage, but also must do abasic work in theindustrydevelopment ofChina’ssoftware.TheCMMIplaysasignificantroleinimprovementofSoftware Process.Now,Itisbecomeaneffectivemeansthatappraiseandimproveoncapability ofsoftwareprocesswhothesoftwareorganizationsathomeandabroadhasusedand approved commonly.Basedontheearlymodelofsoftwareandsystemcapability.TheCapability MaturityModelIntegration(CMMI)isquicklybecomingthefirstpreferredtoolof independent,integrateandflexibleinordertoguideandassesstheimprovement activityinthewholeorganization.ThepracticalwithCMMIdescribecanpromotethe developmentwithhigh-qualityproducts.WiththeCMMIiswidelyacceptedinthe improvementonprocesssoftware,wecansaythis:CMMIisnotonlyaroadmapwith theenterprisecarryoutimprovementinthesoftwareprocessbutalsocomprehensive anddevelopablemodel.ButCMMIisthemodelwithimprovetheprocesswhichonly besuitedtotheneedsofthelarge-scalesoftware enterprises.Howtotake fulladvantage ofCMMImodeladvantagesintheimprovementonprocessonsmallbusinessesand projects.Onthegroundsofstudyonthebasisoftheoryinthesoftwareimprovementon process,thisthesishasanalysesthethreemajordifficultieswhichthesmallandmiddle softwareenterprisesimplementimprovementonprocesstobefaced,andcarryout studyon theoryand tailor in CMMImodel.
