After the First World War the floodgates opened to the throngs of foreign wannabe stars dreaming of a slice of what Tinsel Town had to offer. Samuel Goldwyn and a handful of other foreign studio heads set the stage for the industrys internationalism. Despite being accused of Amero-centric provincialism, Hollywood has always employed a host of foreign born actors and actresses, from Greta Garbo to Nicole Kidman, and Charlie Chaplin to Mel Gibson. Today, a large percentage of the faces we see in Hollywood productions are not American.
