exposuredisplayedobvioustime-anddose-effectrelationship.(2)Thehistopathologicchangeswereobserved.After10dexposure,somevacuolizationofhepatocyteswereobservedinboth0.71and3.56μg/LTBTClgroups.After20d,thevacuolizationofhepatocytesbecameobvious,andsomehemosiderosisappearedinthespleen.After30d,vacuolizationofhepatocytesalsoappearedinthe0.14μg/LTBTClgroup;inboth0.71and3.56μg/LTBTClgroups,thehepatocytesbecamesmallerandmorevacuolized,blurryinterphasebetweencells,andthenucleusjundiedtosidewardordisappeared.Largeareaofhemosiderosisornecrobiosisappearedinthespleen.Theresultsshowedthatthehistopathologicchangesinliverandspleendisplayedobvioustime-anddose-effectrelationship.Inordertoevaluatethechronictoxicityofpollutantstoorganismsandtheirtoxiceffectsonoffsprings,theguppiesfrombirthtosexuallymaturewereexposedto0.01,0.1and1μg/LTBTCl.Itwasfoundthat:(1)LongexposureofTBTClinhibittedboththegrowthandgonadaldevelopment,decreasedthereproductivecapabilitysuchasthenumberandsurvivalofoffsprings.After120dexposure,thebodyweightandlength,andthenumberofmatureeggsin1μg/LTBTClgroupweresignificantlylessthanthoseincontrolgroup.TBTClinhibittedthedevelopmentofoocytefromphaseIIItophaseIV(i.e.,inhibittingvitellogenesis),orofspermoblastfromspermatocyteIItospermatid.Thetesteshadmorespermatozeugmataandductcellin1μg/LTBTClgroup,andthegonadsomaticindex(GSI)notablyhigherthancontrol.(2)HSIwasincreasedwiththeincreaseintimeordoseofTBTClexposure.After120dexposure,theHSIoffemalein1μg/LTBTClgroupwasnotablyhigherthanthatincontrol.(3)Obvioushistopathologicchangeswereobservedintheliver,spleenandthemouthpharynx.In1μg/LTBTClgroup,vacuolizationofhepatocytesappearedafter7dexposure;after14d,thereweresomehemosiderosisinthespleenandepidermiscellsdesquamatedinthemouthpharynx;after21d,thevacuolizationofhepatocytesbecameserious,morehemosiderosisappearedinthespleen,andthetastebudsbecamedputrescence;after120d,thevacuolizationofhepatocytesinfemalesweremoreseriousthaninmalesinboth0.1and1μg/LTBTClgroups,brightfattydropsandnecrobios
