( __状_语) 2. Well-known for their expertise, his parents’ company, ... in a time capsule. ( _状_语) 3. Hit by a lack of fresh air, my head ached. ( __状_语) 4. Exhausted, I slid into bed and fell fast asleep. ( __状__语) 5. Deeply touched, I thanked him again and again. ( __状__语) 6. Caught in a heavy rain, he was late for work again. ( _状_语) 【知识归纳】 过去分词(短语)作状语表示(时间)完成和(语态)被动的意义。 Written (write)in a hurry, this article was terrible! 2.过去分词(短语)作状语时,其逻辑主语是句子的主语。 eg. If caught, the thief will be punished by the police.(caught的逻辑主语是 the thief ) 练习:Offered great help, I can get rid of all the difficulties. (offer的逻辑主语是 I) 3.过去分词(短语)作状语,可以表时间、原因、条件、让步、方式或伴随等情况,可转化为对应的状语从句。 1)作时间状语,可转化为由连词“when, while, until”等引导的时间状语从句 Seen from the hill, the park looks very beautiful.=When it is seen from the hill, the park looks very beautiful. 2)作原因状语,可转化为由连词because等引导的原因状语从句 Lost in thought, I didn’t notice what was happening outside. =Because I was lost in thought, I didn’t notice what was happening outside. 3) 作条件状语,可转化为由连词if, unless等引导的条件状语从句。 Given more time, we could do it much better.= If we were given more time, we could do it much better. 作让步状语,可转化为由连词although, though, even if(though)等引导的让步状语从句。 warned of the storm, the farmers were still working in the fields.. = Though they had been warned of the storm, the farmers were still working in the fields. 作方式或伴随状语,可转化为由连词and连接的并列结构的句子。 The teacher entered the classroom, followed by a group of his students. = The teacher entered the classroom and he was followed by a group of his students. 4.过去分词作状语的位置:过去分词可放在主句前作句首状语, 后面有逗号与主句隔开;也可放在 主句后面, 前面有逗号与主句隔开, 位置较为灵活。 He stood there silently, moved to tears.= Moved to tears, he stood there silently. 【注意】 1. 过去分词(短语)作状语时,分词的逻辑主语与句子的主语要一致。 The teacher cure
