II II Abstract The Great Northern Wilderness is located in Heilongjiang Province in Northeast China. It is the largest cultivated land area in China and also is the most important commodity grain base in our country. It has the most mechanized state farms groupand it play an an important role in ensuring Chinas grain security. Development and construction of the Great Northern Wilderness, is a major strategic decision of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council and the Central Military Commission, and a grand cause of Chinas socialist modernization，and a great feat for the masses under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the construction of the frontier, to defend the frontiers. The thesis focused on the development and construction of the Great Northern Wilderness under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party before the reform and opening-up, especially the poeple how to overcome the harsh natural conditions and the harsh living environment, and make the Great Northern Wilderness into North Wharf. It promoted the socialist modernization of agricultural development. And it discussed in detail the historical background to create the Great Northern Wilderness Reclamation; and discussed the early stages of founding of New China from the liberation war, the Great Northern Wilderness difficult journey as an entrepreneur; and discussed the process of thousands of troops advance to the wilderness, and in the care of the party and state leadership, the Great Northern Wilderness continued to grow and develop the course; discussed during the Cultural Revolution, the Great Northern Wilderness in the twists and turns along the course. Finally, based on the dissertation above, the thesis summarizes the historical experience and enlightenment of the development of the Great Northern Wilderness, mainly including: stick to the leadership of the party, give play to the role of state farms demonstration, constantly improve the level of agricultural mechaniza
