There are abundantly innumerable tourist resources in Sichuan province and it is fairly urgent to introduce them to foreign visitors. However, many problems arise in the present translation of tourist textsnin that there are enormous discrepancies in linguistic structures，stylistic features and cultural backgrounds between Chinese and English. Based on Katharina Reiss’s text typology, Hans J.Vermeer’s Skopotheorie Justa, Holz-manttri’s translation action theory and Christiane Nord’s concept of function plus loyalty, this thesis attempts to discuss certain translation strategies of tourist guide commentaries and takes the tourist attractions of Sichuan Province as examples.
